the Animal Assisted Services - AAS
"Animal-Assisted Services (AAS) are the mutually beneficial relationships that nurture One Health for People and other animals. Health in this context includes the physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being of people of all ages and the welfare of pets in service and other animals in service."
Animal-Assisted Services are goal-directed programs designed to promote improvement in people with physical, sensory, cognitive and psychosocial conditions in which a specially trained animal- handler team is an integral part. There are different types of animal-assisted services and it’s important to note the distinctions.
There are differences between animal-assisted therapy, animal-assisted learning, animal-assisted activities and assistance animals.
