In recent years, the health benefits of the interaction between human and the animals have been so astounding, that a new line of research looking for the biological underpinnings of this relationship has been created- the Anthrozoology. These studies can include wildlife, zoo animals, pets and farmed animals.
The interaction with animals improves physical and mental health,
releaves depression and anxiety signs,
improves focus and communication,
increases social interaction,
and hence increases self-esteem, pleasantness, and the sense of well-being.
As a consequence, in humans, the cardiovascular parameters, blood pressure and the immune function improves.
But, also, the animal may benefit from this relationship.
