Equine-Assisted Activities refers to the non-therapy services that include horses and focus on enhancing the quality of life. Consumers and referring professionals should be aware these services are not regulated by healthcare laws, ethics, competency requirements, or standards of practice , and thus not considered a form of “therapy” or learning.
Despite it learning and therapeutic effects are expected as effects of improved welfare.
The most common forms of equine-assisted activities are adaptive riding or in nature activites with horses.
